Meigs Field was a unique little airport on Chicago’s lakefront. Here is some footage from a landing there before Mayor Daley destroyed Meigs Field in the middle of the night back in 2003, citing “domestic security.” It looked like a great way to arrive in Chicago. Below is another video of the same pilot taking off from Meigs.
